Editing your domains default @ host record

Agent DNS Changes – Editing Your Domain’s Default
WARNING: Changing the DEFAULT (@) HOST RECORD in your GoDaddy DNS settings may affect or disrupt other internet services you have configured to use your domain name.
Before following these instructions, be sure that the only service which will be affected is your website.

STEP 1 Go to GoDaddy.com and log in to your account.

STEP 2 After logging in find your domain and click on the "DNS" button

STEP 3 Next click on the “Forwarding” tab

STEP 4 Delete any forwards you have previously set up by clicking on the “trash” button

STEP 5 Click on the “DNS Records” tab

STEP 6 In the Records section

Look for a record with a Type A and a Name of "@"

If you see the record, click the Edit Icon to edit the record

If you do NOT see this record, click the "Add" button at the bottom of the records section

Set the following settings for this record

Set Host to "@"

Set "Points To" as "157.230.196.39"

Set TTL to custom, with 600 seconds

Click save

STEP 7   After clicking Save you should be back at the top of the DNS Management page

In the CNAME section, click the edit icon to Modify the www record

If you do not see a www record, you can click Add Record, and choose CNAME as the type and www as the “Host”

Ensure” Host” is set to www

“Points to” should be set to the domain you are setting up.  So if you were setting up mycustomedomainname.com you would set the WWW CNAME to point to mycustomedomainname_com.sites.bkat.io (be sure to use your website, not the domain in this example)

Set TTL to Custom with 600 Seconds

Click Finish

Click Save Changes

Profit!

Your changes may take up to 48 hours to take effect. Please contact the Back at You Support Team (support@backatyou.com) if your changes do not take effect, or if you have any other problems or questions.
